Folksy Friday - Birthday Beauties

I'd like to make Folksy Friday a regular feature, showcasing some of the gorgeous handcrafted goodies that I stumble upon as I window-lust my way round Folksy.

This weekend it's all about birthdays in our home - a friend's party to go to on Saturday with the 6 year old and then a family birthday tea and bunting to be enjoyed at ours on Sunday.  Bunting is a birthday tradition in our house so there will be a taste of home in the collection to celebrate.
There will also be tea, cake, strawberries, the yummiest crockery and cutlery - whatever it takes to indulge the once-a-year heaven of birthdays (and it's not even mine this time).

Drawing with an edge to it.

I have been busy recently getting a wedding commission together and happily I proofed the favours notebooks last night and today - so everything is carved, mostly printed and if not, then proofed. Feels good.

I have been able to turn my attention to developing the wedding range - it's been so much fun indulging in all this romance, so why wouldn't I?! This is a shot of Wedding Set #2, at the very early lino stages. I tend to draw the main features directly onto the lino, then free carve a lot of the detail. It's drawing but with an edge!

Right, need to don sturdy boots to face the clouds and puddles out there, time for school pick-up.

On a rainy day...

I look for colour and here is a glimpse of some work I am doing at the moment - part of a commission, so I don't want to reveal all just yet.

My little corner of the world

Here goes then. A little corner of my attic for my first little corner of blogworld. This is a particularly tidy corner of my attic haven, the rest is, um, less so. Think I'll leave it at that for now, no-one needs to know about the rest!

One post at a time. Yeah. I can manage that.
